President and CEO
Mike Abrams joined OHA in February 2012 as president and CEO. He leads a team of 65 associates, supports a 20-member Board of Trustees, serves on a variety of health care and hospital taskforces and committees, and works with 1,900 members of 10 OHA affiliated societies. During 2012 Mike worked with the Board and OHA staff to develop a new, three-year strategic plan focused on a mission to collaborate with member hospitals and health systems to ensure a healthy Ohio. Launched in late 2012, the new plan outlines a bold strategy to focus primarily on advocacy, economic sustainability and patient safety and quality for Ohio hospitals. He works closely with hospital and health system executives and leaders to assess health care trends and review policies impacting the industry. Prior to OHA, Mike was the Executive Vice President and CEO of the Iowa Medical Society from 1996 to 2012. He previously led government relations for the Indiana State Medical Association for nine years and is a graduate of Indiana University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration. Mike’s additional leadership experience includes service on the Boards of the Midwest Medical Insurance Company and the Iowa Healthcare Collaborative, a joint effort between the Iowa Medical Society and the Iowa Hospital Association to promote a health care culture of continuous improvement in quality, patient safety and value in the state. Mike also served as chair of the Geographic Equity in Medicare Coalition. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Health Policy Institute of Ohio, the SmartMarket Board of the AHA, and the Coalition to Protect America’s Healthcare. He also serves as the Region 5 representative to the AHA’s State Issues Forum Steering Committee. He was born in Columbus, Ohio and has extended family in the Cincinnati and Dayton areas. Mike’s wife, Mary Ann Sprauer Abrams, MD, MPH, is a pediatrician originally from Dayton.

Executive Assistant, Health Economics & Policy Department
As an executive assistant to Berna Bell, Charles Cataline and Ryan Biles in OHA’s fiscal policy department, Valerie organizes several committees by preparing meetings and conference calls for her department. She records all appointed members who serve on OHA's various committees and Board of Trustees dating back to the 1940's. Valerie also extracts data from Ohio health insurance company quarterly statements for data analyisis. Valerie researches government websites for health care-related articles, studies, reports, testimonials and publications. This information allows OHA staff members to monitor various health-related issues that may impact Ohio hospitals and health care industries. Valerie joined the OHA staff in 1990. She is from Worcester, Mass., and has studied at Columbus State University and PSI Computer Science Institute.

Director, Information Technology
Dorothy is responsible for all aspects of information technology (IT) at OHA. She received her bachelor of arts degree from Ohio Christian University, majoring in psychology. Dorothy joined the OHA staff in 1995. Her hometown is London, Ohio.

Senior Vice President, Quality & Data
As Senior Vice President of Quality and Data for the Ohio Hospital Association (OHA), Amy Andres currently leads the Patient Safety, Quality, Data Analytics and Information Technology divisions. Amy provides executive leadership to the OHA Research and Educational Foundation and the Foundation for Healthy Communities, both wholly owned subsidiaries of OHA. She represents hospitals, serving on the Executive Board of the Ohio Health Information Partnership, a public-private, non-profit corporation designated to implement Ohio’s Health Information Exchange and to support adoption and meaningful use of Electronic Health Records.
Amy previously served as the Health Information Technology Officer for the State of Ohio, providing strategic direction and advising the Governor’s staff in Health Information Technology policy. She has 20 years of senior-level management experience in both the private and public sectors, and previously held senior level management positions in the healthcare and technology industries. Amy served as the Chief of Staff at the Ohio Department of Insurance and as the Chief Information Officer for the Ohio Department of Education. Before her tenure in public service, Amy successfully led business units as a senior leader for CVS-Procare and Allscripts, Inc.
A magna cum laude graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Amy has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, with a major in Marketing.

Director, Public Affairs
Jonathan serves as OHA’s federal lobbyist and keeps hospital advocates apprised of the changing winds of both federal health care policy and national politics. Directing OHA’s interaction with Ohio’s Congressional delegation, he coordinates grassroots advocacy and representation efforts on federal issues and is a liaison between member hospitals and national health care organizations. A highly requested guest speaker, Jonathan’s energetic presentations are appreciated by audiences of all sizes, and his entertaining, innovative style makes even complicated public policy issues easy to understand. Prior to joining the OHA team in 2000, Jonathan served as a legislative aide in the Ohio House of Representatives and as a public policy intern in the Parliament of Ireland. Originally from Delaware, Ohio, Jonathan is a nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician and holds a degree in political science from Wittenberg University. He and his wife Kim live in Columbus, Ohio.

Kathy works in OHA's accounting department. She earned her bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut. Prior to her employment with OHA in 2015, Kathy was a Project Manager of Kaiser Consulting, LLC and assisted OHA with their accounting and financial reporting functions, as well as their grant reporting and compliance. Kathy started her accounting career in the audit department of Arthur Anderson, followed by over 15 years of diverse financial and accounting experience at the management level of various companies. Kathy is originally from Greenwich, Connecticut.

Manager, Staffing Program
Amy coordinates education and training programs for OHA Solutions' Staffing Program and OHHealthJobs.com for participating member hospitals and contracted agencies. Originally from Grove City, Ohio, Amy received her bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Cincinnati and attained a PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification in May of 2002. She is currently a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). Prior to joining OHA in 2006, Amy was employed for six years in the human resources department of the Ohio attorney general and the state auditor’s office.

Director, Health Economics & Policy
Berna develops advocacy and economic reports on HMOs, Medicare, Medicaid, national health expenditures and Ohio hospital financial performance, and works with state agencies on Medicaid and behavioral health policy. A member of the OHA staff since 1996, Berna is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Originally from Columbus, she has a bachelor’s degree in government from Smith College and a master’s degree in business administration from the Ohio State University Fisher College of Business.

Manager, Advocacy and Public Affairs
As part of the advocacy and public affairs team, Katelyn assists all departments with public relations, communications and branding. She oversees the creation and distribution of OHA’s digital communications, including HEALTH e-NEWS+ and CEOhio, and is responsible for the content and design for the OHA website. Katelyn manages the association’s social media accounts and coordinates a variety of special projects, including designing many of the association’s special publications. In addition to her communications duties, she also oversees the OHA awards program and assists in the planning and implementation of the annual recognition dinner. A native of Dayton, OH, Katelyn joined OHA in 2011 after earning her bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communication from Miami University in Oxford.

Senior Vice President, Health Economics & Policy
Ryan works with the OHA Board of Trustees on issues related to Medicare, Medicaid, the Hospital Care Assurance Program (HCAP) and the hospital franchise fee, as well as other fiscal issues impacting hospitals. Ryan joined the OHA team in 2000 and previously served as Director of health policy and health policy analyst with the association. He graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelor’s degree in economics and history and is originally from Tampa, Fla.

Senior Vice President, Advocacy
As senior vice president of Advocacy, Scott provides leadership and strategy for the association’s advocacy efforts; leads OHA’s government and public affairs team; serves as a member of OHA’s senior management team; and works collaboratively with OHA membership, allied organizations and partners. Scott has previously served as the chief policy advisory to Governor Bob Taft, Chief of Staff of the Ohio House and Ohio Senate and CFO for the University of Akron, the private sector as the Executive Director of the Cincinnati Business Committee and as a public and government affairs consultant. Scott earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in Economics from Ohio University.

Director, Data Analysis & Reporting
Heidi works in OHA’s Quality and Data department managing data acquisition and reporting. She works with member hospitals to collect and standardize patient level data for reporting and analysis. Heidi also works closely with external vendors to develop systems used by Hospitals to submit and analyze the patient level data. She manages a team that works with the patient level data and provides information to internal and external users of the data. Heidi earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting at Ohio University and her Masters of Business Administration degree at Capital University. She is originally from Delaware, Ohio and joined OHA’s team in 2009.

VP, Health Economics & Policy
As part of the health economics and policy staff, Charles is responsible for Medicare, Bureau of Workers’ Compensation policy and reimbursement, Medicaid reimbursement and all finance, admitting and patient financial services policies and procedures. He is also involved with other health care organizations such as the Outpatient Medicare Technical Advisory Group, the American Hospital Association and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Prior to joining OHA's staff in 1980, Charles was the business office manager at Mount Carmel East and held financial service jobs with Mount Carmel Medical Center. Charles is a native of Columbus, Ohio, and earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from the Ohio State University

UC Specialist, Member Services
Sherri provides administrative support to OHA's Center for Education and supports member services. She assists with registration processing and overall program operations. A part of the OHA team since 2006, Sherri received her associate degree in word processing from Columbus State University and is a native of Columbus, Ohio.

Sharon assists the Administration Department, in OHA’s accounting and HR departments. Sharon has a background as an administrative assistant and office management. Sharon joined OHA’s staff in 2008 and resides in Columbus.
|| Dean, Nancy|
Director, Staffing Program
Nancy is the original director of the country’s most comprehensive supplemental staffing program for member hospitals to access temporary staff through the OHA Solutions subsidiary. Initially hired to educate and train member hospitals, her role instantly grew to the creator of tools to manage and support the Staffing Program, as well as the screening of suppliers, implementation of the contracts, marketing, compliance issues and quality audits. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Nancy received dual bachelor degrees from Cleveland State University in communications and theatre arts. Prior to joining OHA, Nancy spent more than 20 years with several Ohio hospitals in managerial, sales and educational capacities and as a patient ombudsman representative.

Director, Health Economics and Policy
As part of the Health Economics and Policy team, Aly works on health care policy analysis and development as well as strategic planning. Prior to joining OHA in 2013, Aly did policy work for CareSource and various State of Ohio agencies including Insurance, Aging and Education. Originally from Youngstown, Ohio, Aly graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in English and Masters of Public Administration.

Analyst, Quality & Population Health
Andy serves as Quality and Population Health Analyst at OHA, supporting research activities, analysis, policy recommendations, and stakeholder engagement within the Quality and Data division. He also collaborates with staff in OHA’s Health Economics and Policy division on projects, white papers, and research. Prior to joining OHA in 2015, Andy worked in New York as a senior analyst in the healthcare division at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, and as a research assistant at the United Hospital Fund. Andy earned his Bachelor of Arts in the history of science and medicine, with distinction, from Yale University. He is originally from Rochester, New York.

Frank joined OHA in August 2014. He is responsible for all computer, server, and telephony issues.
A native of Long Island, NY, Frank graduated from SUNY College at Old Westbury in 2004. He has
more than nine years of experience in IT.

Business Inteligence Analyst
Maria is part of OHA’s Quality and Data team. She works as a Business Intelligence Analyst creating reports and dashboards utilizing business intelligence tools to help analyze hospital data. Prior to joining OHA in 2013, Maria worked as a business intelligence analyst in retail and insurance. Maria earned her bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University. She is originally from Toronto, Ontario.

UC Claims Specialist
Stephanie is the claims specialist in OHA’s Unemployment Program. Stephanie
processes claims and works closely with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in resolving issues regarding unemployment. Stephanie earned her bachelor’s degree in education from the Ohio State University in 2004. Originally from Westerville, Ohio, she joined OHA’s team in 2007.

Director, Population Health
Ryan serves as the Director of Population Health to provide oversight of the programs impacting population health and transitions of care, in support of the Institute for Health Innovation’s core strategies. Ryan builds upon quality and population health successes to cultivate a comprehensive approach to support community level management of acute and chronic disease. He also provides support to the operations of quality and patient safety programs. Ryan earned his bachelor of science degree and his masters of public health degree with a focus on health behavior and health promotion from The Ohio State University. Ryan joined OHA in 2014. He is originally from North Canton, Ohio.

VP, Clinical Policy & Population Health
As Vice President of Clinical Quality and Population Health for the Ohio Hospital Association, Dr. Falcone works with member hospitals and coalitions to champion tangible improvements in quality safety and community health. He most recently served as Chief of Staff of the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Chief of Staff of the Chalmers P Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center, and Acting Chief of Staff for the Jesse Brown VAMC. Prior to joining the VHA, he was President and COO for Grant Medical Center a 640 bed urban teaching Hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center in Columbus Ohio. His clinical background is in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care.
A magna cum laude graduate of Kent State University, Dr. Falcone received his medical degree cum laude from The Ohio State University (OSU) College of Medicine. He completed his internship and surgical residency at Riverside Methodist Hospitals. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery, and a Clinical Professor of Surgery at The OSU College of Medicine.
Dr. Falcone is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and a member of the American Association of Surgery for Trauma and many other professional societies. His past roles in local and state associations have included President of the Central Ohio Trauma Systems Foundation Board of Trustees, Chair of the Ohio Committee on Trauma, and President of the Ohio Chapter American College of Surgeons.

Senior Director, Government Affairs
Rick works with the OHA Advocacy team, lobbying the General Assembly and the executive branch for OHA. He has 17 years of experience working in state government and public service. He previously served as director of government affairs for the state auditor, assistant director and legislative liaison for the Ohio Department of Administrative Services and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, and senior executive assistant for the Ohio Department of Health. He also worked for Gov. George Voinovich's office. A native of Rocky River, Ohio, Rick earned his bachelor's degree from Purdue University in political science and history.

Executive VP & Chief of Staff
Mary Gallagher serves as executive vice president and chief of staff for the Ohio Hospital Association where she oversees OHA’s leadership of the advocacy, health economics & policy, patient safety & quality and member services & operations divisions. Mary has been with OHA since 1997 and previously has served in roles as the chief operating officer, general counsel and director of health policy for the association. Before joining OHA, Mary practiced with the health law group of Baker & Hostetler, LLP, where she represented a wide range of providers and payers.
An honors graduate of the Ohio State University (BA, JD), she is a frequent speaker on health law topics, including board governance and nonprofit law, and an editor and contributor to various health law treatises, including Health Law and Compliance Update, published by CCH Incorporated and State and Federal Prohibitions on Physician Referrals and Hospital Contracts Manual, published by Aspen Publishers, Inc. Mary was recognized 2013 through 2010 as a “top lawyer” by Columbus C.E.O. Magazine and Columbus Business First; by Law & Politics in 2008 and 2009 as an “Ohio Super Lawyer,” in 2006 & 2005 as an “Ohio Rising Star®” and in 2004 as one of the “Top Forty Under 40” business leaders by Columbus Business First.

Morgan is the OHA customer service representative and is responsible for managing the switchboard as well as greeting OHA’s guests. She also supports staff with special assignments. Morgan, a native of Columbus, Ohio, joined the OHA team in 2013.

Director of Advocacy
Stephanie serves as director of advocacy. She joined OHA from the Health Policy Institute of Ohio, where she held the role of Director of Access and Coverage Policy. Prior to working at HPIO, she worked at the Ohio Legislative Service Commission. She started her career as a LSC fellow, then covered health and human services issues as a budget analyst, and later coordinated the LSC Fellowship Program. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Stephanie earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration from The Ohio State University.

Vice President, Quality Programs
Jim directs the development and implementation of patient safety and clinical quality programs in collaboration with Ohio hospitals and other health care organizations. He leads a team of quality professionals with clinical backgrounds to evaluate successful hospital patient safety and clinical quality practices, coordinate quality programs across Ohio and facilitate implementation of best practices. Jim has previous experience as a vice president for patient care services and chief nursing officer with St. John Medical Center as well as director for nursing resources and manager for organizational development with University Hospitals Health System. A native of Warren, Ohio, Jim earned his diploma in nursing from Saint Thomas Hospital Medical Center and his Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the University of Akron. He joined the OHA Team in June 2013.

Senior Director of Public Affairs
As senior director of Public Affairs, Robin leads brand management and internal/external messaging for the organization. She works closely with OHA’s leadership team to ensure communications support the organization’s strategic priorities. Robin has held leadership roles as a journalist and as a communications strategist. Prior to joining OHA in 2014, she was associate vice president for marketing and communications at Columbus College of Art & Design. Robin’s health care and public affairs experience includes serving as vice president of national media for Paul Werth Associates and as marketing director for the Center of Vocational Alternatives. She was associate managing editor of Business First. Robin earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Ohio University and a master’s degree in business administration from Capital University.

Director, Government Affairs
Kate serves as director of advocacy. She works with Rick Frank lobbying the Ohio General Assembly and supporting the public affairs teams with projects related to legislative communication. Prior to joining OHA, she began as a Legislative Service Commission fellow and later worked in the Ohio House and Senate followed by political fundraising and most recently at the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office. Originally from Dayton, Ohio Kate earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana.
|| Hughes, Ellen|
Ellen Hughes, RN, recently joined OHA as quality coordinator. In this full-time capacity, she will continue her current work on Hand Hygiene and support ongoing initiatives of OHA’s Quality Programs department, such as the regional collaboratives, statewide initiatives, and other quality/patient safety improvement initiatives.
She has served as a clinical consultant on multiple OHA quality initiatives since 2009. Most recently, she assisted with the coordination of the Partnership for Patients (PfP) project where she managed the Student Nurse Process Observers (SNPO's) in 68 hospital locations and 40 nursing homes in Ohio and offered compliance reporting to OHA participating hospitals in three processes: hand hygiene, central line dressing sterility and patency, and head of bed elevation for mechanically ventilated patients.
Ellen served for 15 years as a director of legal/risk management and quality systems for Kaiser Permanente in Cleveland and Southern California. Prior to that, she was a trial consultant in a defense law firm. Ellen has worked with the Texas Medical Association and hospitals in New Mexico. Ellen obtained a diploma in Nursing from the Providence Hospital School of Nursing. She is an accredited claims adjuster under the Florida Department of Insurance, and is a legal nurse consultant through the Kaiser Permanente Legal Division. Associate General Counsel & Director of Health Policy
Bryn assists OHA members and staff with legal and health policy issues. Before coming to OHA, Bryn worked for five years at Bricker & Eckler as an associate focusing primarily in the areas of health information technology, health care transactions, meaningful use, health information privacy and security, and facility regulation. A native of Springfield, Ohio, Bryn earned her bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in 2006 and received her law degree, summa cum laude, from Capital University Law School in 2009. Bryn has been named a “Rising Star” by Ohio Super Lawyers and an “Associate to Watch in Health Care Law” by ChambersUSA.

Director, Public Health Programs
Serving as both a consultant and an advisor, Carol is responsible for emergency preparedness in hospitals and health care delivery systems throughout Ohio. She also serves as the liaison on the state level between hospitals and state agencies to enhance the position of Ohio hospitals and ensure inclusion of hospitals response in statewide decisions, plans, and process. A native of Montoursville, Pa., Carol joined the OHA staff in 2002 after serving as hospital director of safety at the Ohio State University Health System, formerly known as OSU Medical Center.

Chief Information Officer
In his role as the Chief Information Officer at the Ohio Hospital Association, Eric leads all facets of information systems. He supervises three director-level positions responsible for managing OHA’s IT, Data Services, and Application Support Divisions. He oversees systems for processing and normalizing hospital clinical and financial data including data migration to various internal and external systems and maintaining multiple statewide and regional datasets accessed by various programs and systems. His responsibilities also include the management of all security policies, procedures, plans, and systems as mandated by HIPAA to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all protected health information (PHI) handled by the organization. Eric received his Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Information Systems, from The Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business.
|| Jones, Stephanie|
Stephanie is part of the Quality and Data team at OHA. In her role as a data analyst she helps collect, standardize and validate hospital data for analysis and assists member hospitals with data support questions. Prior to joining OHA in 2014, Stephanie attended The Ohio State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics. While in school she worked at Ohio State’s Government Resource Center assisting on a project about electronic health records for Ohio Medicaid. Stephanie is originally from Powell, Ohio.

As the Ohio Hospital Association’s Database Administrator, Haris’s job responsibilities include maintaining, securing, and optimizing all of OHA’s SQL Server Databases, including everything from OHA’s data standardization and validation processes to its CRM and accounting servers. Additionally, he develops and optimizes T-SQL code for OHA’s proprietary data products. Haris was born and raised in Columbus.

Mailing Services Coordinator
Paula purchases and maintains an
inventory of all OHA office supplies and coordinates catering services. She is responsible for OHA Center for Education and OHA Annual Meeting program mailings and all other mailing generated by OHA. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Paula joined the OHA team in 1978.

Director, Membership Services
As OHA Director of Membership Services, Tom meets regularly with Ohio hospital CEOs and, upon request, their management teams to discuss current health care issues affecting hospitals and OHA’s positions on these issues. Tom markets OHA’s products and services and reports feedback from member hospitals back to appropriate OHA staff. Tom also plans the OHA Small and Rural Hospitals Committee meetings for the association, serves as the liaison to OHA’s Long-term Acute Care and For-profit hospital members and represents OHA at related events as needed.
Prior to OHA, Tom served as CEO of Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, Ohio, and CEO of Highland Medical Center, a federally qualified health center in Monterey, Virginia. A native of Youngstown, Ohio, Tom earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from The Youngstown State University and a Masters in Health Care Administration from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He received an Honorable Discharge from the United Stated Air Force during the Viet Nam Era and graduated from the USAF Medical Services School as a Clinical Laboratory Technician.

Director of IT Infrastructure and Security
Dominic is responsible for all network and security issues at OHA. He also serves as OHA's HIPAA Security Officer. Dominic has broad knowledge of IT hardware, software, and networking technologies. He is a native of Pittsburgh, PA.

Senior Vice President, Member Services & Operations
Cliff is responsible for membership services for OHA’s member hospitals throughout Ohio. Prior to joining OHA in 2007, Cliff served five years as chief operating officer of Affinity Health System in Wisconsin. His previous experience includes 14 years at Blanchard Valley Health System in Findlay, where he served as president of Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center and chief operating officer. His experience also includes 15 years at the Ohio State University Hospital. A native of West Lafayette, Ohio, Cliff earned dual bachelor's degrees in production and operations management and industrial relations in addition to a master’s degree in business administration from the Ohio State University. Cliff also holds a certificate in lean health care from the University of Michigan. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

As executive assistant to Mary Gallagher, Rick Sites, Sean McGlone and Nancy Engbers Falk, Rhonda works with risk management, human resources and nursing issues. She also coordinates OHA’s legal research activities as well as OHA’s annual Safety Campaign. Rhonda joined the OHA team in 2003 after working with the Ohio Board of Nursing as a paralegal in the compliance unit. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Rhonda earned a bachelor’s degree in political science/pre-law from Norfolk State University and a paralegal certificate from the Academy of Court Reporting. She has an MSA in Health Services
Administration from Central Michigan University.

Senior Vice President & General Counsel
As a member of the senior leadership team, Sean leads OHA's legal services team and works with OHA members and employees on a variety of legal and health care policy issues. He also supports OHA's advocacy team and advocates for hospital interests before a variety of regulatory agencies and the Ohio legislature. Prior to serving as senior vice presidentl, Sean was Associate General Counsel and Sr. Director of Health Policy after joining OHA in 2009. Before joining OHA, Sean worked as an attorney at Bricker & Eckler for six years. Prior to law school, he worked as a legislative aide in the Ohio House of Representatives for former House Speaker Jo Ann Davidson. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Society of Ohio Healthcare Attorneys, the Association of Corporate Counsel, and the Columbus Bar Association. He serves on the Board of Trustees of Mohun Health Care Center and serves on the finance committee. He is a graduate of the 2005 class of Leadership Columbus. Sean earned his bachelor's degree from Wittenberg University in 1996 and his law degree from Ohio State University in 2002.

ETL Developer of Data Services
Tammy joined OHA’s Quality and Data team in 2015. She works as an ETL Developer on the team that collects and standardizes patient data submitted by member hospitals for analysis and reporting. Prior to OHA, Tammy worked as a developer, database administrator, and implementation consultant in the areas of accounting, education, and health care. She has a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy from Miami University and certificates in business intelligence and database technologies from Bellevue College and Columbus State Community College. Tammy is originally from Bettsville, Ohio.

As a manager in OHA’s Center for Education, Jeannette is responsible for planning meetings for seminars and conventions. She is also secures continuing education credits for seminars and the Annual Meeting. Jeannette joined OHA’s staff in 1991. Her hometown is Bernville, Pa.

Director, Public and Media Relations
John is responsible for media relations and serves as OHA’s spokesperson. He manages communication and public relations projects for the Association. John assists with developing OHA reports, coordinating partnerships, managing social media networks and maintaining OHA’s website. He assists with organizing OHA's awards program and coordinates the annual awards dinner event. John also works with public relations professionals from OHA's membership, allied organizations, state agencies, and other constituencies.
John joined OHA in January 2012 and he has more than ten years of experience with public relations, communications and media relations. He graduated from Capital University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and earned a master’s degree from Ohio University in organizational communication. He is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America’s Central Ohio Chapter serving in a variety of capacities advising area college students and serving on the Board of Directors. John is from Sugar Grove, Ohio.

Erin is responsible for the internal accounting of OHA and its subsidiaries. Erin joined OHA’s staff in 2004 after earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Miami University. She completed her Masters of Business from Capital University in 2008. Erin is originally from Lagrange, Ohio.

Judi provides administrative support for OHA President/CEO Mike Abrams. Joining OHA in 2014, Judi’s background in the legal and financial industries complements her additional responsibilities to the OHA Board of Trustees and the OHA Executive Committee. Judi has an associate’s degree from Sinclair Community College and a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University. Judi and her family reside in Grandview, Ohio.

Jackie works in Member Services coordinating events and providing support for personal membership groups. She also serves as the liaison and administrative support for OHA’s corporate partners. She came to OHA in 2005 with a background in insurance, administrative assistance and customer service. Jackie is from Plain City, Ohio, and has an associate’s degree in legal assisting from Columbus State Community College.

Prior to joining the OHA staff in 1985, he earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from the College of Wooster and both a master of science degree and a juris doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Rick also earned a certificate in Health Care Management from the Ohio State University, and previously worked as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services. Born in Tiffin, Ohio, he is a longtime adjunct
instructor for Central Michigan University in its Master of Science in Administration program.

Senior Manager, Employment Services
Brenda oversees OHA’s Unemployment Program. Her responsibilities involve training hospital management staff, assisting in the processing of claims, coordinating schedules for representation hearings before the Ohio Review Commission and generating reports for monthly charges. A member of the OHA team since 1978, Brenda is from Westerville, Ohio.

Greg is responsible for all printing services at OHA. This includes directories, weekly and monthly publications, educational programs and OHA brochures. Executive Assistant, Member Services & Operations
Cindy provides high level administrative support to OHA senior vice president Cliff Lehman, coordinating his schedule plus all functions relating to the Systems CEO Advisory Group and the OHA Small & Rural Committee. A native of Columbus, Cindy began her career at OHA in 1981 as receptionist, moving into Public Affairs prior to her current assignment which started in 2005.

As a member of OHA’s Quality Institute, Virginia serves as liaison with the hospitals participating in OHA’s CARE System. She is also responsible for the preparation of reports for the various quality collaboratives. Prior to joining OHA in 1995, Virginia was a data associate for the Greater Cincinnati Health Council. She earned her bachelor’s degree in economics and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines, her hometown.

As part of OHA's Health Economics and Policy team, Daniel works with economic modeling and analysis and assists in various analytical and policy issues. Prior to joining OHA in 2014, Daniel received a master’s degree in economics from Bowling Green State University and completed coursework for a Ph.D. in economics at the University of Tennessee. Daniel grew up in Houston, TX and received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Texas A&M University.

Senior Director of Quality Programs
Rosalie works with hospitals on statewide and regional quality and patient safety initiatives, oversees the CSR program and ORYX measurement system, and advises members on the Joint Commission. In addition, she staffs the Ohio Patient Safety Institute (OPSI), which is also a certified Patient Safety Organization. Before joining the OHA staff in 2000, Rosalie was the manager of performance improvement and informatics at Summa Health System. She earned her RN from the Mercy School of Nursing Diploma Program and her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Akron. Originally from Loudonville, Ohio, she is a member of the National Association of Healthcare Quality and a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Chris is responsible for the
internal human resources and support services functions at OHA. Chris also manages OHA’s Workers’
Compensation Group Rating Program. Chris has been part of the OHA team since 1974. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Chris attended the Ohio State University.

Debbie manages both the OHA Salary Survey and OHA/Jones Day Labor Law Project. Debbie is also the contact for Medical Opportunities in Ohio (MOO), a tool used to connect physicians with health care employers and their communities. Debbie coordinates the activities of OHA's committees and task force including the Nominating and Governance Committees of the OHA Board as well as activities related to Ohio's allied/regional hospital associations. A native of Ironton, Ohio, Debbie joined OHA in 1982.

Executive Assistant-Centennial Events
Mary's title/role is executive assistant, centennial events, effective Dec. 1, 2014. Previously, she served as Assistant to the President and Secretary to the OHA Board of Trustees for 17 years. She belongs to the national Association of Health Care Administrative Professionals (AHCAP). Prior to joining OHA in 1997, Mary worked in fundraising for UNCF: The College Fund. Originally from Hazleton, PA, she holds a bachelor’s degree from Misericordia University in Dallas, Pa.

Director, Data Applications Support
Amber promotes, supports and develops software and data products for OHA
member hospitals. She works in OHA's Data Services Department. Amber earned her bachelor’s degree in health promotions/exercise science from the University of Iowa. Amber’s work experience prior to joining OHA in 2007 includes nine years in outside sales and training for several
national companies, including Eastman Kodak and T-Mobile USA. A native of Columbus, Ohio, Amber also has lived in Peoria, Ill., and more recently in the San Francisco Bay area.

Manager Energy and Environment
Susan joined OHA in 1999 as Executive Assistant in the Government Affairs department. In 2003 as an intern, Susan managed the Mercury Challenge Program which subsequently became the Energy and Sustainability Program. Her roles at OHA continued to evolve (Coordinator, Incumbent Worker Training and Education; Special Project Manager; and Pollution Prevention (P2) Project Manager) as she managed multiple research and educational as well as environmental grant programs to assist OHA member hospitals and health systems. Currently, Susan manages OHA’s environment and energy projects and serves on the Northern Ohio Society for Healthcare Engineering (NOSHE) Board as the American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) sustainability Liaison. In addition, she sits on the Ohio Clean Air Network and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science (graduated Summa Cum Laude) from Capital University, Bexley, OH.
