You Took my Breath Away – Leveraging Remote Patient Monitoring to Combat COVID

The Ohio Patient Safety Institute, OPSI, recognizes leading practices among Ohio health care organizations in patient safety with the hope that what has been achieved by one facility can be replicated by another to continue to improve quality of care in Ohio.

Part 1 of this 4-part series will discuss leveraging remote patient monitoring to combat COVID-19.

Learning Objectives

1. Describe the need for novel approaches to patient care to address shifting healthcare needs.
2. Identify at least two (2) interventions which specifically reduce post-operative respiratory failure in the acute care setting.
3. Describe the development, evolution, and successes of the University Hospitals COVID-19 Intercept Strategy, which served as a model for the State of Ohio and created meaningful and lasting collaborative relationships between health systems, public health, governmental agencies, and congregate care settings/facilities.
4. Identify at least two quality improvement tools that could be utilized to impact change in the performance improvement process.

Continuing Education Credits
The Ohio Hospital Association (OLN-0017-P) is approved as a provider of continuing education by the Ohio Board of Nursing through the approver unit at the Ohio League for Nursing (OBN-006-92) and provider unit approval is valid through June 30, 2023.

Registration Fees
Registration fee is $50 per session/per line or $200 for all four sessions/per line. One or more individuals from the same institution may participate for the same fee. The registration fee is charged per phone line occupied.

This series is designed for individuals involved or responsible for nursing, case management, social work, physicians, patient safety, pharmacy, risk and/or quality management.
