Webinar: Ohio Medicaid FFS Utilization Management: COVID-19 Claims

Per federal requirements, the Ohio Department of Medicaid must conduct retrospective reviews to ensure medical necessity and that proper coding guidelines were followed. ODM’s utilization review vendor, Permedion, will provide an overview of inpatient and outpatient hospital claims with a diagnosis related to COVID-19. This webinar will provide an introduction of relevant COVID-19 coding guidelines and review MCG criteria utilized by ODM to review medical necessity of claims. This information will assist hospitals in submitting COVID-19 claims to ODM. 

Learning objectives

  • Participants will have an understanding of COVID-19 and its impact on providers
  • Participants will have an understanding of the MCG criteria utilized for COVID-19 admissions
  • Participants will understand basic coding guidelines for COVID-19 claims
