Aultman Health Foundation, University Hospitals Honored with Annual Advocacy Awards

Today the Ohio Hospital Association, representing Ohio’s 237 hospitals and 13 health systems, presented the American Hospital Association’s Ohio Grassroots Champion award to Tim Teynor, vice president of Public Policy, Aultman Health Foundation (Canton). OHA also presented Dan Bucci, director, Government Relations, University Hospitals and Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital (Beachwood) with the 2019 Friends of Ohio Hospitals Most Valuable PAC Player Award.  

The AHA Annual Ohio Grassroots Champion Award recognizes a hospital leader who effectively educates elected officials about major issues affecting hospitals, has done an exemplary job in broadening the base of community support for hospitals, and is a tireless advocate for hospitals and their patients. 

The Friends of Ohio Hospitals Most Valuable PAC Player Award recognizes a hospital or health system CEO and his/her managerial staff for their tremendous commitment and outstanding efforts during the previous year’s Friends of Ohio Hospitals fundraising campaign. 

In addition to the awards presentation during the OHA Annual Meeting advocacy luncheon event, Amy Acton, MD, MPH, director, Ohio Department of Health delivered a presentation on the public health priorities for Ohio.
