COVID-19 Case Counts Up, But More Dispersed Across the State

Gov. Mike DeWine yesterday shared the weekly update of the Public Health Advisory Alert System showing Summit County (Akron area) joined the list of Red Level 3 Alert counties, though the total number of Red counties is the lowest since the color-coding began.

Remaining Red counties include Butler, Mercer, Montgomery, Preble and Putnam. Lucas and Wayne counties downgraded to Level 2 advisories this week. Although there are fewer Red counties overall, the virus remains rampant with a high number of cases in Level 1 Yellow counties and Level 2 Orange counties throughout the state contributing to the 1,240 new cases reported in the 24 hours between Thursday and today.
