DeWine, Husted Declare November Diabetes Awareness Month in Ohio

Gov. Mike DeWine and Lt. Gov. Jon Husted on Nov. 1 proclaimed November as Diabetes Awareness Month. More than 30 million people in the U.S have diabetes with over 1 million being residents of Ohio. The DeWine Administrations proclamation highlights the significant disparities in the prevalence in Ohio, with older adults, African Americans, Ohioans at lowest income and education, and those living in the southern and Appalachian regions having the highest diabetes prevalence.
