May is High Blood Pressure Education Month

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute organizes High Blood Pressure Education Month each May to encourage the public to learn about high blood pressure, or hypertension, a major risk factor for heart disease. This year’s theme, The Heart Truth, discusses that young and middle-aged women may think of high blood pressure as something that happens later in life, but high blood pressure can occur at any age and during pregnancy. Publications, social media resources and drop-in articles for your organization to share can be found here.
