Narcan Now Available Over the Counter

Starting in this month Narcan will be available over the counter, making it the first naloxone product approved for nonprescription sales. The over-the-counter Narcan nasal spray, manufactured by Emergent BioSolutions, will cost about $45 for two doses, with a reduced price of $41 for public interest groups. Major pharmacy chains like Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS and Walmart will carry the spray, and it will also be available for delivery. Additionally, Ohio residents can access Narcan for free through online orders and the Ohio Department of Health-Project DAWN, a program offering naloxone distribution and education. Learn more here
