New Study Finds Youth Suicides Increased During COVID-19

The Center for Suicide Prevention and Research at OHA member Nationwide Children's Hospital published a study in Pediatrics stating that youth suicides increased during COVID-19, with significantly more suicides than expected among males, non-Hispanic American Indian/Alaska Native youth and non-Hispanic Black youth. The results of this study emphasize the necessity of suicide prevention treatments that are targeted to address racial and ethnic differences among kids at high risk of suicide.
