OHA Environmental Leadership Awards Application Extended to Aug. 12

The OHA Energy & Sustainability Program in late spring postponed the Melvin Creeley Environmental Leadership Award and the John Chapman Award programs, due to the cancelation of OHA’s Annual Meeting and Energy Program Awards Ceremony. With the impact COVID-19 has had on hospital facility and sustainability staff, OHA is extending the awards application deadline to Aug. 12.

Hospitals can apply for both awards. Member hospitals can click here to view the application. A PDF version is available here for reference.

The Melvin Creeley Award recognizes hospitals and health systems that promote sound environmental practices through the implementation of waste reduction programs, recycling initiatives and other activities to preserve the health of the planet for future generations. Recipients of the Melvin Creeley Award will be considered for OHA’s highest environmental leadership award, the John Chapman Award for Environmental Leadership. To be eligible for the John Chapman Award, applicants must provide supporting data and a written program narrative.
