OHA Member Leaders Join National Effort on Gun Violence Prevention, Safety

Two Ohio hospital CEOs have joined the National Health Care CEO Council on Gun Violence Prevention & Safety. Stephen Markovich, MD, president and CEO of OhioHealth, and Tomislav Mihaljevic, MD, CEO and president and Morton L. Mandel CEO chair of Cleveland Clinic, are among the 50 members of the council that is united to tackle the issue of gun violence. The council members are aware that guns are the main cause of death for children and that they will use their resources to attempt to decrease this number. This pledge supports public education and awareness campaigns, working with local violence intervention groups, and pursuing research and other initiatives in order to reduce violence.
