September marks Sepsis Awareness month to educate health care providers and the general public about a condition that affects more than 41,000 Ohioans each year.
The Ohio Hospital Association is presenting a webinar, “The Impact of Health Literacy Upon Sepsis Mortality,” led by Karen Komondor from OHA member St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 18. Connect here to access the webinar, which is offered at no cost.
OHA collaborates with providers across the state to leverage September to increase early recognition and early intervention of sepsis. Since the 2015 launch of OHA’s statewide sepsis initiative, Ohio hospitals have reduced sepsis mortality, saving an estimated 3,926 lives.
