OONE Announces Name Change, Aims to Fall in Line with National Group

The Ohio Organization of Nurse Executives is following in the footsteps of its parent organization and changing its name to the Ohio Organization for Nursing Leadership. The American Organization for Nursing Leadership, formerly known as the American Organization of Nurse Executives, announced its name change in April 2019.

“Ohio Organization of Nurse Executives is a proud affiliate of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the national professional organization for nurse leaders,” said Anne Gunther, OONL president and system chief nursing executive at Aultman Hospital. “For more than 50 years, AONE has provided leadership, professional development, advocacy and research to advance nursing leadership practice and patient care. As the field of nursing leadership evolves to meet the changing needs of patients and communities, our national organization must also evolve.

“Looking to the future, OONL will continue to advance the work of Ohio nurse leaders by providing innovative learning experiences, influencing health care policy, and celebrating a diverse and inclusive community,” Gunther continued.

The Ohio Organization for Nursing Leadership, or OONL, is a state organization of nurse leaders serving as the catalyst for innovative health care in Ohio and the nation. As the recognized center of excellence for clinical leadership, OONL is committed to enhancing health care through education, technology, research, consulting, networking and information sharing.
