October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women in the United States, excluding skin cancer. There is a 1 in 8 chance a woman will develop breast cancer. The majority of women with breast cancer are middle-aged or older. Breast cancer occurs almost exclusively in women, but men can get it too.

The Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion released resources for Breast Cancer Awareness Month to support their mission to improve health across the United States. Resources include basic information about breast cancer, when to get a mammogram, risks and prevention and breast cancer treatments. To raise awareness and learn more about cancer click here
