Sepsis Alliance Hosting Disaster Setting Sepsis CE Training

Populations affected by disasters are exposed to a variety of health hazards such as trauma, burns, poor sanitation and mass sheltering – all of which place them at increased risk of infection and sepsis. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Sepsis Alliance and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, as part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response have produced the Disaster Medicine: Sepsis training module. The no-cost training session created for health care professionals will provide guidance on how to recognize, assess, and evacuate patients with or at risk of sepsis in the context of a disaster response.
