UH Expands COVID Testing, Announces Ohio’s 1st Fully Mobile, Self-Contained Testing Center

University Hospitals Monday announced efforts to provide more testing to Black and Hispanic communities, which are seeing more cases of COVID-19 and deaths but have less access to testing. UH unveiled the state’s first fully mobile and self-contained testing center that will be visiting underserved areas across Northeast Ohio.

The unit is equipped with a plexiglass booth to separate the caregiver from the patients during testing and will have a regimented cleaning and sanitation protocols between patients.

UH is in the process of determining exact locations for mobile testing and plans to work directly with leaders in each community to inform residents about details of upcoming visits. Read UH’s press release on the new mobile testing center here.
