University Hospitals Teams Up with NASA for PPE Decontamination Technology

OHA member University Hospitals in Cleveland has joined forces with NASA’s Glenn Research Center to develop new methods and technologies for decontaminating personal protective equipment, or PPE, for aerospace applications and for safeguarding the health of workers caring for patients with COVID-19.

A team of researchers has developed and tested two new approaches that could enable health care professionals to sanitize masks on-site and safely reuse them, the Atomic Oxygen Method and Peracetic Acid Method. Click here to view UH’s press release.
