Conference Explores Workplace Violence in Health Care Settings

Join OHA, along with the Ohio Societies of Health Care Human Resource Administrators, Nurse Executives, Health Care Risk Managers and Health Care Attorneys, and OHA’s Hospital Improvement Innovation Network, for a conference exploring the impact of workplace violence in health care settings. The program will be held at 8:30 a.m. April 11 in Columbus.

This day-long session will cover elements of workplace violence incidents from the different perspectives of those who deliver health care. It will stress the importance of the entire organization working together to not only reduce the risk of workplace violence, but also the need for all parts of an organization to unite for the benefit of all.

Attendees will hear about actual events, the public relations issues, legal facts and what is involved in the recovery and return to work of an employee that has been the victim of an assault in the hospital. The session’s presenters will also discuss techniques on how to be prepared and “ready for anything” will be presented, as well as information on how to control situations that might escalate to violence.

Hospital CEOs, behavioral health personnel, chief nursing officers, compliance officers, consumer advocates, Emergency department personnel, emergency preparedness, human resource directors, TJC coordinators, Internal and external hospital legal counsel, nursing services, patient safety liaisons, public relations directors, risk managers and safety officers are encouraged to attend.

Registration is required to attend the event. Registration rates for OHA members Corporate Partners are $175 and $225 for non-member organizations. The cost of registration includes beverage breaks, lunches and handout materials. For additional information, or to register, click here.
