Last Chance to Register for OHA’s Sept. 20 Medicare, Medicaid Update Seminar




Hospital executives, in-house counsel, auditors, controllers and reimbursement and patient financial services team members are invited to attend the “Medicare and Medicaid in 2019” seminar Sept. 20 in Columbus.
This seminar is presented each fall to update hospital representatives on federal health care legislation and Medicare and Medicaid payment policies. The agenda features updates on the Ohio Hospital Care Assurance Program and its affiliated free care requirements, the Ohio hospital franchise fee, supplemental Medicaid payment programs and federal Medicaid DSH program audits.
Susan McDonough, senior director, DataGen, and William Shyne, principle healthcare data and policy analyst, DataGen, will provide the Medicare update.

Representatives from OHA’s Health Economics & Policy team will discuss the Medicaid Enhanced Ambulatory Patient Grouping Outpatient Prospective Payment System and rebased Inpatient Prospective Payment System.
In addition, OHA staff will provide updates from the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and on the Ohio Hospital Care Assurance Program, franchise fee and supplemental Medicaid payment programs. OHA’s Advocacy team will provide a preview of the upcoming election and a look at the state’s health care legislative landscape.
