Registration Open for OHA Annual Meeting – Transforming Health Care in Ohio




The Ohio Hospital Association invites employees, medical staff, trustees and volunteers of member hospitals and health systems and OHA Corporate Partners to register for the 2017 OHA Annual Meeting June 12-14 in Columbus.
The OHA Annual Meeting offers a premier opportunity for health care providers and administrators at all levels to gain valuable insight about statewide industry trends, to network with their peers and achieve a better understanding of the health care issues and policies most likely to impact their organizations.
Packed into three days, the OHA Annual Meeting and Education Summit offers national speakers, statewide awards and more than 70 educational sessions organized in 14 tracks specific to various hospital and health care topics. Continuing education credits are offered for many disciplines at no cost to hospital employees, including a track offering American College of Healthcare Executives Category 1 credits. Registration is free for Ohio hospital employees. 
Monday’s keynote speaker, Morgan Wright, is an internationally recognized expert on cybersecurity strategy, cyberterrorism, identity theft and privacy. His landmark testimony before Congress on changed how the government collected personally identifiable information. Morgan has developed solutions in defense, justice and intelligence for the largest technology companies in the world.
Tuesday’s keynote speaker, Ben Nemtin, is a New York Times bestselling author and cast member of MTV’s “The Buried Life.” Ben aims to inspire and help people expand outside of the monotony and achieve to-dos on their list of “100 things to do before you die.”
In addition to the education sessions, the Annual Meeting offers several special events and luncheons. At Monday’s Advocacy Luncheon, Ohio’s top political reporters will discuss events at the Ohio Statehouse and Washington, D.C. impacting Ohio’s hospitals and OHA will recognize members for their leadership and support of the Friends of Ohio Hospitals Political Action Committee.
On Tuesday, OHA’s Energy and Sustainability Program will present the 2017 John Chapman Award at a luncheon featuring keynote speaker Tom Pendry, chief operating officer at Donatos Pizza. Also on Tuesday, the OHA Legal and Financial Affairs Luncheon will center on a “Revisiting Charity Care and Beneficiary Inducements in the Light of New Guidance” keynote presentation by J. Patrick Garcia, associate, and Rachael Ream, attorney, Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman, PC.
Tuesday’s Recognition Dinner will honor all the statewide nominees for the Albert E. Dyckes Health Care Worker of the Year Award and winners of the OHA leadership awards. We also will induct two new members into the OHA Hall of Fame.
Wednesday is reserved for the 10th annual Quality Summit with ACHE educational sessions and special events, including the presentation of the annual Ohio Patient Safety Institute’s Best Practice Award.
