OHA's experienced advocates represent hospitals' views on dozens of health care bills each year with state lawmakers, Ohio's Congressional delegates, state and federal regulatory agencies and other trade associations.

We also develop and implement legislative strategies and spearhead grassroots advocacy efforts to help hospitals create a powerful voice in the legislative and public policy arena.

132nd Ohio General Assembly

OHA tracks a number of bills that have operational implications for hospitals and health systems each legislative session.
OHA works to equip state lawmakers with the tools and resources they need to make informed decisions on health care matters affecting their constituents.

State Budget and Mid-biennium Review

Each biennium, the executive and legislative branches deliberate the state’s operating budget. Constitutionally, Ohio’s budget must be balanced, passed by both chambers and signed by the governor prior to July 1 – the beginning of the new biennium.
