Data Updated Daily Showing Pandemic’s Impact on Ohio Hospitals

OHA’s interactive dashboard, launched Nov. 23, shows the increasing burden the COVID-19 pandemic is having on Ohio hospitals. Hospitals and health systems in Ohio are working closely with local and state health officials to manage the hospital resources necessary to treat the surge of COVID-19. Since the onset of the pandemic, OHA has facilitated the collection of key hospital data points through the OHA Resource Tracker.

OHA’s COVID-19 Hospitalization Dashboard and Patient Utilization Map show the increase in the total utilization for all Ohio hospitals in each county.

On Sept. 1, 2020, 1 in 24 patients were COVID positive, now on Jan. 19, 1 in 6 patients are COVID positive.

About the Data

The data featured in this dashboard is submitted by Ohio hospitals to OHA’s Resource Tracker. The data is sorted by the eight regions of the state’s Hospital Preparedness program and based on geographic areas (urban and rural). The dashboard shows 7-day, 21-day and 60-day trends of Ohio COVID-19 inpatient and ICU hospitalizations since May 2020. Users are also able to access the daily patient count for COVID-19 inpatient and ICU hospitalizations in Ohio since May 2020. The dashboard is scheduled for daily updates at 12:30 p.m.
