ODH Reports First Pediatric Flu Death of Season, Urges Vaccination

The Ohio Department of Health has reported the state’s first flu-associated pediatric death of the 2024-25 season, a teenager from Allen County. Health officials urge parents to protect their children by getting them vaccinated, emphasizing that flu remains a serious health threat. Ohio has seen more than 9,000 influenza-related hospitalizations this season, surpassing the five-year average, with flu activity currently at very high levels.
