Ohio Hospitals’ Zone Structure Prepared to Respond to Emergencies
OHA and our member hospitals and health systems collaborate with the Ohio Department of Health and health care coalitions to prepare for and respond to local, regional or statewide emergencies.
In the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ohio Hospital Association and Ohio Department of Health developed a new emergency structure for the state through three zones that are supported by ODH’s eight health preparedness hospital regions. Zone 1 includes regions 1, 2 and 5. Zone 2 includes regions 4, 7 and 8. Zone 3 includes regions 3 and 6.
OHA continues to collaborate with state, zone and regional partners to support these efforts. As a component of these efforts, OHA is working with statewide subject matter experts to offer free trainings and independent studies around relevant emergency preparedness plans and guidelines.
