OHA’s Institute of Health Innovations, or IHI, has cemented its Board of Directors for the new year, with appointments effective Jan. 1, 2025. The Board is responsible for the IHI’s activities in advancing safety and quality excellence and enhancing community health.

Heidi Gartland, chief government and community relations officer at University Hospitals, will serve as Board chair, while Robert Montagnese, president and CEO of Licking Memorial Hospital, will assume the role of chair-elect. Michael Canady, MD, retired CEO of Holzer Health System and recipient of OHA’s 2024 Donald R. Newkirk Health Care Leadership Award, will take on the position of secretary/treasurer. Patti Finn, CEO of Fulton County Health Center, will transition to immediate past chair of the OHA Board, while Jayne Gmeiner, vice president and chief nursing officer at Dayton Children’s Hospital, will join as a trustee-at-large.

The OHA Finance Committee, which assists and advises OHA on association policy on the financing and cost of hospital care, will also have a new chair on Jan. 1. Premier Health System’s Jennifer Ranly will step into the role for a two-year term at the start of the new year.

OHA expresses its appreciation for Lee-Ann Helber of OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital and Chip Hubbs of Memorial Hospital for their dedicated service, as their terms on the IHI Board conclude at the start of the year. OHA also thanks UC Health’s Rick Hinds for his service during a two-year term as chair of the Finance Committee
