Eric James
CIO and Vice President, Data Services
Eric is a highly experienced and results-driven Chief Information Officer with a strong track record in IT leadership roles. He leads all facets of information systems, including managing the organization's technology infrastructure, overseeing the implementation of new software applications, and developing and executing IT strategies. Eric also leads a team that collects and analyzes hospital clinical and financial data. Finally, he is responsible for managing security policies and systems mandated by HIPAA to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all protected health information (PHI) handled by the organization.
Prior to joining OHA in 2013, Eric was the Senior Vice President for the Ohio Health Information Partnership, where he led the implementation of a statewide health information exchange. Before that, Eric served as the Chief Information Officer for the Ohio Department of Insurance, where he oversaw the implementation of several key technology initiatives.
Eric is proud to be a native of Youngstown, Ohio, a city with a strong blue-collar work ethic that has instilled in him a deep commitment to hard work and perseverance. He brings this same dedication to every aspect of his career, from his early days working as a project manager to his current role as a seasoned Chief Information Officer. Eric earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from The Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business.
