As National Hospital Week approaches May 11-17, the American Hospital Association has released a range of digital resources for hospitals to honor their workforce and highlight community impact. This year’s theme, “We Are Health Care: Caring for patients; strengthening communities,” encourages recognition of the vital roles health care workers play. OHA encourages members to leverage AHA’s digital toolkit, social media assets and storytelling platform to showcase their team’s contributions. Hospitals can also participate by using the hashtag #WeAreHealthCare and sharing photos, videos and testimonials. Ohio’s new hospital price transparency law, effective this month, requires hospitals to notify the Ohio Department of Health each time they update their chargemaster or online price estimator tool, as outlined in Ohio Revised Code 3727.35. To submit these updates, hospitals must register and use Juvare’s EMResource system. Fill out a request form here and view an aid for the process here. Hospitals must submit annual updates by Oct. 31, 2025, and each year between Sept. 1 and Oct. 31 thereafter. Additional updates may be submitted at any time.
