National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is set to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration hosts Drug Take Back Day to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. The state of Ohio collected nearly 41,000 pounds of prescription drugs during the previous Take Back Day in October 2024. Click here to find disposal sites near you.

Ohio’s new hospital price transparency law, effective this month, requires hospitals to notify the Ohio Department of Health each time they update their chargemaster or online price estimator tool, as outlined in Ohio Revised Code 3727.35. To submit these updates, hospitals must register and use Juvare’s EMResource system. Fill out a request form here and view an aid for the process here. Hospitals must submit annual updates by Oct. 31, 2025, and each year between Sept. 1 and Oct. 31 thereafter. Additional updates may be submitted at any time. Hospitals can contact AHR@odh.ohio.gov for regulatory questions or BAP@odh.ohio.gov for technical support.
