Explore Hospital Finance Solutions, Payer Relations Strategies at OHA Annual Meeting

Health care professionals from across Ohio will gather May 19-21 at the Hyatt Regency Columbus for the 110th OHA Annual Meeting & Education Summit, and our Finance Track will allow attendees to explore the latest strategies and challenges in hospital finance. This year’s Finance Track features expert-led sessions covering AI-driven capacity management, policy updates, financial diversification and more.

OHA will also offer a Payer Relations Track that aims to aid attendees in navigating disputes and litigation as well as harnessing AI. The annual meeting hosts eight separate educational sessions covering all things finance across the first two days of the conference, and four Day 1 sessions on payer relations.

Ohio Health Officials Urge Measles Vaccination Amid Outbreak

The Ohio Department of Health has confirmed a measles outbreak in Ashtabula County, with 10 cases reported, including one linked to an out-of-state visitor who exposed others in Knox and nearby counties. None of the affected individuals were vaccinated, prompting health officials to stress the importance of the MMR vaccine, which is 97% effective in preventing measles. OHA Annual Salary Survey Provides Key Compensation Insights

Each June, OHA conducts a salary survey for members, analyzing 122 leadership roles and 269 staff positions across hospitals and health systems. Participants receive data on compensation, workforce trends, turnover and vacancy rates, along with a custom competitor report at no extra cost. A separate CEO compensation survey also analyzes pay and benefits for hospital and system executives. The survey is widely valued for workforce planning. Toolkit Resources Provided to Amplify Faces of Medicaid Ad Campaign

The Coalition to Strengthen America’s Healthcare has launched new advertising efforts as part of the Faces of Medicaid campaign. The latest ads—"Promises," highlighting commitments to protect Medicaid and Medicare, and "30 Million," emphasizing Medicaid’s role in covering children—are running nationally. To help spread the message, digital toolkits for each ad provide sample social media posts and resources for advocacy. As Congress moves forward with budget discussions that could impact Medicaid and Medicare funding, hospitals and supporters are encouraged to use these toolkits and engage in advocacy efforts. New State ID Required for Online Access to Ohio Medicaid

Ohioans managing food stamps, Medicaid or child care benefits online will need a new OHID credential starting this weekend, state officials announced. The change enhances security and streamlines access across state systems. About half of users already have OHID, and the state has communicated with recipients to ease the transition.
