The Ohio Department of Health has confirmed a measles outbreak in Ashtabula County, with 10 cases reported, including one linked to an out-of-state visitor who exposed others in Knox and nearby counties. None of the affected individuals were vaccinated, prompting health officials to stress the importance of the MMR vaccine, which is 97% effective in preventing measles. Measles is highly contagious and can cause severe complications, especially in young children, but vaccination offers strong protection. Each June, OHA conducts a salary survey for members, analyzing 122 leadership roles and 269 staff positions across hospitals and health systems. Participants receive data on compensation, workforce trends, turnover and vacancy rates, along with a custom competitor report at no extra cost. A separate CEO compensation survey also analyzes pay and benefits for hospital and system executives. The survey is widely valued for workforce planning. The Coalition to Strengthen America’s Healthcare has launched new advertising efforts as part of the Faces of Medicaid campaign. The latest ads—"Promises," highlighting commitments to protect Medicaid and Medicare, and "30 Million," emphasizing Medicaid’s role in covering children—are running nationally. To help spread the message, digital toolkits for each ad provide sample social media posts and resources for advocacy. As Congress moves forward with budget discussions that could impact Medicaid and Medicare funding, hospitals and supporters are encouraged to use these toolkits and engage in advocacy efforts.
